Today, this heritage is being reinforced through a new certification. <strong>Masters of FLAX FIBRE\u2122<\/strong> replaces the former European Flax\u2122 certification, providing traceability of European-origin flax from fibre to finished product while placing greater emphasis on responsible cultivation and the experience behind the fibre.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-b73e7b7f\"><strong>A New Certification for European Flax<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-af16c5c7\">Created in 2012, the European Flax\u2122 certification has evolved into Masters of FLAX FIBRE\u2122 in response to growing demand for traceability and greater transparency across the textile value chain.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-f3229496\">The new certification also recognises integrated crop management practices and the expertise of European flax producers. From 2026, the agricultural and scutching standard will be subject to independent third-party audits by Bureau Veritas, replacing the previous agricultural charter.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-bd3d5dd6\">Masters of FLAX FIBRE\u2122 covers flax grown in France, Belgium and the Netherlands, and highlights the combination of soil, climate and human expertise that makes European flax unique. The certification also promotes practices such as crop rotation, careful water management, limited use of agricultural inputs, biodiversity measures and 100% mechanical fibre extraction.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/intercot.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/From-fields-to-our-hands-nature-becomes-yarn-and-yarn-becomes-fabric-%F0%9F%8D%83Breathable-lightweight.jpg?fit=600%2C799&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18240\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-921a0703\"><strong>The Future of Sustainable Linen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-42ede5c5\">As demand for natural fibres with reliable origin continues to grow, traceability is becoming an increasingly important part of responsible textile production. Masters of FLAX FIBRE\u2122 builds on the heritage of European Flax\u2122 while strengthening the link between agricultural practices, fibre quality and European expertise.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-c8f477ab\">At Intercot, we work with natural and cellulosic fibres, including European flax, to develop yarns adapted to different textile applications.
